Renee, Vancouver, BCDr. Alibhai changed my life.
I went to see her with several problems; poor sleep, low energy, IBS (including diarrhea up to 3 or 4 times a week – sometimes more!) and inability to lose weight. She did a thorough check of my medical history and asked plenty of questions. She decided to start with tackling my IBS.
She asked me to track my food intake then looked it over to see where I could make changes. She suggested a special diet to see how the IBS symptoms responded (cooked veggies instead of raw, low dairy, no beans, lean meats, etc.) and we both decided to get the ELISA blood test. (Way easier than trying an elimination diet.) During this time my IBS symptoms dramatically improved! I was more regular, having less diarrhea, cramping and stomach discomfort and my energy improved!
The results from the ELISA blood test showed the need to cut dairy, yeast, gluten, and wheat as well as other foods. This was very devastating news and I thought "how am I going to live like this?"
However, Dr. Alibhai reassured me by saying her diet was very similar to this and knowing that, made the news a little easier to "digest." (No pun intended!) Through the journey of going without those 4 major foods I've learned a lot. I had to do a lot of research and some of the information was confusing and overwhelming but I wasn't alone having Dr. Alibhai there the whole way to answer my questions and concerns.
Although it was very daunting at first, finding suitable healthy options became easier and eventually, a way of life. When cutting these bothersome foods out of my diet, my IBS virtually disappeared! I couldn't believe it! I'd been living with "IBS" for 6 or 7 years just trudging along with little to no help from the conventional medical system and thought I'd just suffer with it forever. Thankfully I was wrong! My initial visit was in late March of 2010 and as of November 2010 I am down 40 pounds (with diet, and exercise) feeling full of energy, sleeping better and if you were to ask me how my IBS is, I'd say "what IBS??!"
I now thoroughly believe that IBS is a symptom and not actually a condition and that it can be treated naturally with diet, supplements and exercise. Many other positives have come from this experience. I am rarely sick and LOVE going to the gym now. I have motivated several other people to live a healthier lifestyle and love leading by example.
Many strangers from the gym have approached me telling me how fantastic I look and during a trip in the summer, my own family members didn't even recognize me! ANYONE with IBS should definitely see Dr. Alibhai for natural treatment that will leave you feeling like a whole new person! Thank you Dr. Alibhai for changing my life and helping me become a whole new person, I couldn't have done it without you!

JC. Vancouver BCI've always lived a fairly healthy lifestyle. I'm very active and watch what I eat but was constantly struggling to maintain a healthy weight. I decided to see Dr. Alibhai to gain some insight into my general health. I experienced a few ionic cleanses and after a few consultations decided to do a cleanse and alter my eating habits to see if it would make a difference. I've tried different cleanses before but found the type Dr. Alibhai recommended was the least intrusive and easiest to follow. Just a few simple changes have resulted in weight loss and I'm even sleeping better.
I can't express enough gratitude for the support and encouragement Dr. Alibhai has given me. She continues to be genuinely engaged in my health and for this support I am so very grateful.
This experience has changed my life, I'm happier, healthier and know my new lifestyle choices will enable a long and healthy life. Thank you so much.

A. W.I have been a patient of Doctor Alibhai's for just over 4 months now and her advice has resulted in major changes in my health. I am a 5 year breast cancer survivor and was diagnosed with fybromyalgia 15 years ago. Over the years I have taken many supplements and have had some good results for long periods of time but stress in my life would always lead to a flare up of my many symptoms.
It was suggested to me to try Infarred sauna treatments. I did and did not get the results I expected. It was suggested to me to visit Dr Alibhai and I am thankful I did as she has changed my way of life forever.
Dr Alibhai did a full history on me and suggested a body scan.
From the results of the scan she was able to ascertain that my thyroid and adrenals were not working properly. She gave me supplements for that and also told me I had Candida. I was put on a strict Candida cleanse and diet for 1 month. Followed by a parasite cleanse. Dr Alibhai was very supportive during this time and was always available to talk to when I was having a bad day.(I had a few) After one week of the Candida cleanse I started to feel more energy and less pain. My mind fog cleared with each following day. Changing your diet means changing your way of life and is not an easy task. I did and thanks to Dr Alibhai I am a new person. I am pain free and fog free.
Oh! I forgot to mention the bonus I got... I lost 28Ibs of unwanted fat and went from a size 12 to a size 5-6 and have kept the weight off for 3months now. Dr Alibhai is a very knowledgeable and caring person and I have referred her to many people. Many thanks Dr Alibhai for giving me my health back and showing me how to keep it that way.
Oh! And thanks for the new wardrobe my husband had to buy for me.

A. T.I made my first visit to Dr. Alibhai after years of feeling exhausted, confused, suffering from memory loss and poor concentration, and constantly being in a "brain fog". My family doctor had been unable to tell my I felt this way, let alone tell me what to do about it. I used coffee to try to keep my energy levels up, but even consuming on average, 20 cups of coffee a day, I was still coming home after work to crash on the couch, eat dinner, drink more coffee, then fall in to bed exhausted at about 8:00 or 8:30, only to get up feeling extremely tired the next day.
After about six weeks with Dr. Alibhai, I am down to one cup of coffee a day ( I used to drink a pot before I left for work in the morning), have more energy than I have had in years, and people tell me I look much better. The dark circles under my eyes and the pasty skin color are gone. I now have the energy to come home after work, help my son with his homework, work on my own night courses, and spend quality time with my husband. I even manage to fit a 20-minute run in most nights, something I was too tired to even think about before.

D. M., North DeltaIt all started about 28 years ago. I was stopped at a red light in my classic '66 Mustang. The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital to a police officer waiting to tell me that a witness to the accident couldn't believe I had not been decapitated. My whole torso kept flying back and forth with the seat as my face kept hitting the stirring wheel. I WAS STOPED AT A RED LIGHT. I was hit at seventy-two miles an hour, so I was told.
Having fibromyalgia means many things change, and a lot of them are invisible. Unlike having cancer or some other well-known illness most people do not understand even a little about (this illness) and its effects, and of those that think they know, many are actually misinformed.
It started off quit subtly; a bit of muscle pain, along with some generalized aches and stiffness. Then there were periods when concentration was impossible and a day or two of overwhelming and profound fatigue. I would chalk it up to a case of flu. Once upon a lifetime ago, I owned and operated a playschool for young children. I operated out of our home. Thirteen hundred square feet illuminated with Fluorescent lighting. I didn't know that they (fluorescent lights) could make you sick, in my case sicker. I kept telling my husband that I felt much sicker when I was down stairs at work 10 to 12 hour days. And so, I realized one day that the pain and fatigue wasn't going away anymore. One part or another of my body always hurt. The outside breeze hurt my skin. When I did sleep, I would wake up tired and feeling like a wet dishcloth.
Then I crashed, my life spiraled even more downhill and I ended up in the hospital on morphine and put thru some gruesome tests for almost two weeks to be told they couldn't understand what was causing me so much pain. Fibromyalgia doesn't show up in any scans or x-rays etc. For these reasons, fibromyalgia is often described as an "invisible disability." I was labeled disabled. But hey! I was told I could out live my husband!… From a wheelchair.
I lost my business. My dignity. I lost sense of who I was. Living a Rip Van Winkle life (going to bed at the end of bright spring day, and waking to a cold winter morning.)
As I became increasingly immobile, I gradually stopped making plans because I never knew how I would feel. Showering and getting dressed tired me out as much as a full days work. I started seeing doctors of various specialties in the hope that one of them could offer me some relief. When the pain was bad I would see chiropractors and massage therapists, physiotherapy, my doctor sent me to sports therapy you name it I tried it. I tried acupuncture and alternative treatments too. I saw marginal improvement if any.
Although fibromyalgia is not a terminal illness, it is a demoralizing and debilitating one. There are things in this world worse than death. I cheated death. But often wondered what took more courage going on or bowing out. I never really felt like I had cheated death until today.
In approximately six weeks of coming to the ARRAY OF LIFE I have hope, real hope, and I am getting back my life. After consulting with Dr. Alibhai I was prescribed 20 Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments, 4 Vitamin C drips, 4Vitamin B12, 4 DMSO IV, I started using the Prolix machine and had an Ionic Cleanse footbath every day and I try to have 2 Far- Infrared Sauna Therapies a day. Morning and night. And least I forget I'm learning what an effect proper nutrition, the right frame of mind (I listen to my Audio Hypno tapes from the center.) and proper treatment can make on my well being and progress, because, I believe the body was designed to heal but I was never given so much therapy and not all at once. I have lost 15 pounds and several inches, I was snailing along, and now I'm walking again best of all I can kill a night by sleeping up to six hr. verses 1 to 1 and1/2 hrs. at a time, if I was lucky. As I said found real hope, thanks to Dr. Alibhai and all the wonderful people at the ARRAY OF LIFE for giving me a ray of life. If I had just one wish I would wish sincerely that everyone that suffered at all could know the benefits I'm achieving. And they can too!

H.C.I first met Dr. Alibhai four years ago after I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I find her to be very supportive and a great listener. I greatly value her suggestions and her medical advice. The neurologists told me that I would have several MS attacks a year and may end up in a wheelchair and they said that there was little that they could do. Dr. Alibhai has helped to give me hope and ultimately my health back. Today, I am NOT an invalid at all. I play volleyball, I ski and in May I will be running a half marathon just like I did last year! I have recommended Dr. Alibhai to many of my friends and family members for a host of other medical concerns and their feedback to me has been very positive. Dr Alibhai is a true healer!

Y.H. & S.A., Richmond, BCI've suffered with constipation all my life. I went to different doctors regarding the problem many times but nothing the doctors suggested seemed to be correcting the problem. I was ready to give up but when I thought it could be one of the reasons I wasn't able to loose weight I had to try something else. That's when I decided to try a naturopathic route and see Dr. Alibhai. Dr. Alibhai was able to assess my problem and find out what was causing my constipation. It took 3 months of following a series of cleanses and a strict diet, but I was able to not only solve my initial problem of constipation but also lose 25lbs that I've been trying to get off for a number of years. Dr. Alibhai was able to find out that it was certain foods I was eating that my body was either allergic to or not able to digest. We also found out that I had a low thyroid and that was not helping with the weight loss. Now that I know what foods I need to stay away from, I haven't had any issues regarding the constipation in months. I feel great, my energy is up, and I'm relieved from bloating, water retention, and I'm 20lbs lighter. It was a lot of hard work but it was well worth it. I never thought that I would ever be able to find a cure for my constipation. Before Dr. Alibhai helped me I thought this was something that I would have to live with the rest of my life. Thankfully my problem has been resolved thanks to Dr. Alibhai.

T.O., Vancouver, BCEarlier this summer, I undertook the 30-day "detox" or cleanse diet. While I thought it might be impossible to do during the food-tempting summer time, I went four weeks without any meat (except chicken ever so often), sugar, flour/gluten, alcohol, caffeine, processed/refined foods, salts, deep fried foods etc. I went on the cleanse because I wanted to see if there was anything that could be done to help with my digestive problems. I always felt bloated and heavy in my stomach; however, my biggest problem seemed to be constipation or hard stools. I also was suffering from poor sleeps at night.
During the first week, I could tell that my digestive system had already started to work better, move better, and had started to "clear out". My bowel movements became much more regular and my stools were softer. This happened within the first few days and carried out all through the 30 days.
Before the cleanse, I probably ate an average of one piece of fruit every two days and ate vegetables only during dinner (and some of that was canned vegetables). During the cleanse, I learned to eat more fruit during the day, vegetable servings both at lunch and dinner and most importantly, eat fresh organic fruit and vegetables whenever I could. I learned that organic fruits and vegetables actually taste better and that is why I believe I have come to enjoy eating more fruits and vegetables. I've learned that eating fresh, unprocessed food (including nuts) in this manner keeps my digestive system active, healthy and regular.
Also, before the cleanse, I was drinking two cups of coffee daily. During the cleanse, I dropped all caffeine except for one cup of green tea every second day. The cleanse taught me how much of an effect caffeine was having on my sleep and probably my body in terms of water consumption. Because of the coffee in the morning, I drank very little water for the rest of the day. I also learned that when you drink coffee, it takes water from the body so you should be replacing it with water two-fold when you drink it. That is something that I was not doing and that probably contributed to my digestive problems. During the cleanse, with very little caffeine in my system, I found that I was able to fall asleep within minutes after lying down for the night. The cleanse showed me that I can live without coffee every morning and can instead enjoy drinking herbal tea and lots of water.
I believe that naturopathic medicine and Dr. Alibhai's diet consultation has done great things for me in terms of having a body that feels better, in terms of a more regular digestive system, and a mind that feels better, in terms of having better nights of sleep. Almost as important, I believe that naturopathic medicine has opened my eyes to the importance and greatness of eating and living off of natural, unprocessed foods and lots of water.

Ed GilbertI am writing this testimonial to verify that I have had outstanding results since beginning my naturopathic treatments and consultations with Dr. Tasreen Alibhai.
By starting a detoxification regimen I have significantly reduced the toxins in my body and feel like I am 30 years old and not my 50 years of youth!!
Dr. Alibhai has also given me considerable insight into my diet and what changes I needed to make to bring my high cholesterol levels within acceptable limits. She has also given me natural products, that when taken with my normal medication as prescribed by my physician, have again reduced my high levels of bad cholesterol.
Having a severe case of acid reflux disease has disappeared by dietary changes and using natural products that she has introduced me to. These natural products eliminate the need for me to take prescribed medications that were very unfriendly to use. I still have a supply of these harder drugs but have only needed once and that was because I strayed from my new dietary habits and the times when I would be eating.
She has also been very supportive of alternative medical treatments like reflexology which has also been very beneficial to me both physically and mentally. Playing hockey 3-4 times per week and regular workouts at the gym allows me plenty of exercise but by looking and treating the body as a whole has definitely been beneficial to me.
Dr. Alibhai has also provided additional information regarding the environments we live and work in and what changes we can do to further assist oneself in determining what changes they want to make to ensure they are taking responsibility for one's own health.
Without a doubt and without reservation, I highly recommend Dr. Alibhai to anyone who feels they may need or require more medical information or treatments. She has made a strong believer out of me and I cannot believe the time she spends with me in comparison to the brief "Your In-Your Out" feeling I get when I go to my normal physician. She has also pointed out that her treatments do not over ride my normal physician directions to me…but taken together I feel that I am receiving the optimum medical care anyone could desire.
Feel free to contact me at anytime at edgilbert@shaw.ca if you require more information regarding my experience with Dr. Tasreen Alibhai.

J. K.I suffer from a lung disease called bronchiectasis. In my case it was caused by a bacteria called pseudomonas aeruginosa. Although this bacteria is resistant to antibiotics, physicians told me that antibiotics was the only thing they could do for me. It did help a little bit but after four years of antibiotics I was sicker than ever. My immune system was very weak. I was always tired and suffered from repeated bladder infections.
By the time I arrived at Dr.Tasreen Alibhai's clinic, I was at my wits end. I was always tired, coughing all the time, I had difficulty walking and my quality of life was very poor. Dr. Alibhai gave me a treatment specific to my disease. I cannot believe it but I have now regained strength and joy of life. My breathing is much better and I no longer need to sleep my life away. Dr. Alibhai, form the bottom of my heart I want to thank you for helping me.

SandraIt was a huge benefit to me to have a simple blood test done to test for food allergies. I had come to see Dr. Alibhai because of my general feeling of being overweight and my stomach had felt "overstuffed" no matter what I ate it seemed. Once I had the food allergy testing done, it gave me a place to start to eliminate the foods that my body was randomly reacting to. I built new meal plans with foods that I could eat and have been feeling great ever since. Even though the tests showed that I have a mild allergy/sensitivity to certain foods, when you combine 4 or 5 items in one meal then the effects are much greater.
Knowing what I know now, I can make better choices for snacks and at mealtimes. -- Thanks Dr. Alibhai for getting me back on track!

Alan, Vancouver, BCIf you're someone experiencing long-term stress, anxiety and/or sleep related problems and are getting no where with your GP - other than medical prescriptions that likely are making things worse - I highly recommend that you consult with Dr. Alibhai. A natural program of supplements, diet changes and relaxation suggestions can get you back to feeling normal/good again in a couple months ... without the pills

Then Dr. Alibhai became a part of my life! She carefully approached and tackled each symptom making sure that treatments were realistic and easy to follow. She has been inspiring, encouraging, cheerful, and most importatly trustworthy along my journey of healing.
Dr.Alibhai earlier. I was very surprised when Dr.Alibhai was going over my previous symptoms; I felt like she was going over some other patient's chart. Well I had only one more thing to do by then: give her my best hug and say THANK YOU.
I feel great now. I no longer have any of the symptoms that I listed above. They sould all foreign to me.
This could happen to you, too you know.
Thank you very much, Dr. Alibhai.

RosannaWhen I arrived at the Canadian Hyperbaric Institute of 09 I was feeling very low moral wise and weak and very sore physically. I had been suffering in pain for 12 and half months from having a 4-kilo shot put hit me on my right outer quad. I had suffered nerve damage as well as acquiring RSD after the accident. If this were not bad enough the accident had also caused havoc on my entire central nervous system. I was spiraling down emotionally and energy wise from an extreme lack of regular sleep since the accident. The cycle of pain as well as its intensity made it so I had not been able to sleep for longer than three hours without waking up. I felt as though I was in a constant grog state and my memory was becoming compromised form the lack of a proper sleep pattern. My appetite, energy level, temperament and overall well being were suffering.
I did not notice a change in my body immediately from the HBOT. Dr. Alibhai informed me that I would possibly feel worse the first few dives and that it would take about 20 dives for me to really begin to notice a difference in my overall well being.
Dr. Alibhai was right when she said that the first few dives would not be pleasant. I felt pain but actually not anymore that I had been feeling for the past year. The first positive thing I noticed was an increase of energy and appetite and a decrease in pain. This was after about 10 dives. I could walk for longer distances with less pain about 10 dives in. After 20 dives I had another significant jump in my improvement. It was around this time that I was able to sleep for longer than 3 hours in over a year. I was actually able to sleep for 7 hours and my sleep has remained regulated ever since. This in itself has made my overall feeling of health return. I am not functioning in a fog anymore. I still get tired of course but now when I go to sleep I actually wake up feeling rested and with much less pain.
My overall strength, energy, posture, balance and gait all improved immensely and basically it is the best I have felt since the accident fourteen months ago. I can't imagine how much longer I could have gone on like I was with such limited improvement. I would not hesitate a moment to recommend HBOT to people and am currently discussing it with a friend who is suffering from thrombosis. Thank you Dr. Alibhai and to everyone at the clinic who made my treatment comfortable and accommodated time and physical needs. The staff were friendly, kind and understanding.
Sincerely,
